Global aviation services provider ExecuJet is slated to open its new FBO-MRO facility at Dubai South by the end of 2019, in time to prepare for the World Expo 2020, taking place within the perimeter of the Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
“We will be going to tender for a contract within the next two weeks. We will be ready by the end of 2019,” Mike Berry, president, aviation services, and vice president, Middle East told AIN. “It’s a massive facility. Total plot size will be over 22,000 square meters. Two plots will be for FBO and MRO, and one plot for parking.”
He confirmed that ExecuJet signed a contract with landlord Dubai South in 2015 to build the facility, and said that delays were understandable, given the extent of modifications taking place at the new airport.
Berry added that, despite the migration of business jet services from Dubai International to DWC, ExecuJet has no plans at the moment to vacate its original facility, located in the Dubai Airport Free Zone.
